Both models have a base V6 that gets 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft of torque. The Wrangler adds an optional 270-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a V8 that delivers 470 hp. You’ll have standard four-wheel drive with either model, with an eight-speed automatic in the Gladiator and either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission in the Wrangler.
Standard equipment in both vehicles includes a two-speed transfer case, 17-inch steel wheels, tow hooks, and underbody skid plates. They also incorporate heavy-duty front and rear axles.

Towing and Cargo

The Wrangler can tow up to 3,500 pounds, depending on the trim, while the Gladiator has a class-leading towing max of up to 7,770 pounds. It can also haul up to 1,720 pounds in the 5-foot cargo bed.
Four-door models of the Wrangler give you nearly 32 cubic feet of cargo space in the rear with more than 72 cubic feet when you fold down the second row. Both vehicles offer an Auxiliary Switch Group package that incorporates 7-pin and 4-pin wiring harnesses along with programmable receiver switches.

Cab Space and Features

The Wrangler offers a two-door four-seater and a four-door five-passenger model. The Gladiator comes only in the latter body style. Both models give you the freedom of a removable roof and doors. You’ll also have standard cloth upholstery, air conditioning, power windows, and power door locks.
The Wrangler adds ambient cabin LEDs and a push-button start. Optional upgrades for both vehicles include leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Both these vehicles feature a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker stereo, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. You can also add a 7-inch digital gauge cluster.
